September 24th!!... Is there anyone out there that has noticed that I am way behind on this year Whats New page? They say time flies the older you get, boy where they right! I will just re-cap the year real fast for you, how's that? ...well for starters, I was the artist of the month at the Lewistown Artist Gallery in December 2007..then in January I had surgery for a cochlear implant (I love it!) ...during this past summer I did the farmers market a few times. I did make a few sales but mostly I just worked on my farmers tan..lol. I also joined another local group of artists that are called Studio 706 Artist Guide. I enjoy this group of talented and very friendly people very much. This group is not only supportive of each other but they also raise money every year for art scholarships for graduating seniors. The 706 group did a art show at the Gun & Antiques Show earlier this year. I sold just enough to cover my entry fees for that one...which was cool by me. :) During the summer they also did the Riverfest. I am hoping some of them made sales, however I didn't. But that's how it goes sometimes. ...now more currently I am the artist of the month for the month of September at the Lewistown Artist Gallery. I have made a few sales at this gallery but not enough to brake even. Yes! Yes! I am a starving artist for sure..lol..well anyway..this weekend the 706 Guide is doing the Gun & Antiques Show again, that is Sept 26 through the 28th. I have quite a bit of artwork going into that show...now...Sept 28th I also have artwork showing at the Myrna Loy Theater in Helena Montana. The Helena one is a fast and furious thing because I think it only last a few hours...however I wanted to do this one for 3 reasons..1, exposure of course..and 2, I get to meet a lady whom I've been emailing with since the first part of the year..and 3, I needed to clean the glass on all my artwork stacked in the closet. :) lol...This lady I get to meet has 2 cochlear implants and has been my friend and guidance thought this cochlear implant journey. Getting this implant is one of the scariest things I've ever done in my life!! If you don't know what a cochlear implant is, its a computer device that they embed into your skull.....yeah! they surgically cut your ear off, shave your head, drill a whole in your skull and embed this computer and feed these long fibers threw your cochlear and then if it works as planned...you hear sounds again. If you don't believe me, look it up! It's very amazing but of course that makes me a cybot..part human, part computer.lol..but anyway, I get to meet this lady and I am really looking forward to it. ....Oh! I guess I should mention that I was told I am this years winner for the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Personal Achievement Award...however I haven't received anything as of yet. But they like all my artwork and I have donated artwork to the MDA Art Museum. It's always nice to know that people like what you do. :) .............before I go...I want to thank those who hired me to paint their pets..do their business logos..and edit or restore their family pictures. Thank you!, you are the ones that make what I love doing even more fun. :) .............am I caught up yet?? probably not..lol
